SYF CENTRAL JUDGING

our hands held on tight,
with hopes so high .

mrs chee and alumnis told us
that we had a chance of getting gold.
mrs chee also said that band directors from other bands
were shocked at our tremendous improvents

noone screwed up
especially the soloists
it was the best ever played so far
we were so proud of ourselves

we were so happy after our performance
hopes so high
girls were squealing
and the guys smiled wide

we went in and waited for results

our hands went sweaty
holding each other so tight

my eyes were shut

we were all waiting for the "gehh" initials

my eyes remained shut
somehow they refused to accept the fact
i lost all my emotions and feelings
slowly letting go of zany's hands..

it was only seconds later when i realised
that it was really over

my eyes opened slowly
and they started to well up

ive never felt like that
( im not saying this just because its a literary phrase but really, i felt it )

noone really cheered or even cleared when they mentioned
the cursed 'S' word
it was only the other bands who clapped for us
we just tearing

other bands were so happy
cheering so aloud when they got silver
and even one band who got bronze

every band there was so elated expect for ours

really, im not being snobbish or a sore loser or whatever
but seriously, i know we deserve more

if only hwa chong wasn't before us

even the conductor from marsiling said that the judges compared us with them
only yuhua got gold
and they were before them

the bands after hwa chong for the whole day didnt get a single gold
hwa chong achieved Gold With Honours

i have nothing against hwa chong but its the judges

oh man, i really cant accept it

and things even got worse in school.
i can't say it here.
well, deon says i cant.

everyone was so happy and confident ( not over-confident)
on the way there and before the results

it was so so quiet and gloomy on the way back to school
some even teared more listening to our recording,
really feel that it was good and we deserved better .

and almost the whole band cried again when
VP , mr thomas came in tha band room
so happy.

" im so happy! u guys get silver ! i drove into school and rushed all the way straight up!

everyone started tearing when he mentioned " silver "

and he asked

" where's the band major ! "

and goes to shake vania's hand.
she was crying like, really, crying hard.
with one hand covering her mouth.

" eh why so sad! its good! u guys got silver "

imagine how that scene was.
our own VP was so happy for us but he doesnt truly understand our feelings.
and that moment where vania broke down
really was gahh

still, we tried to think positively.
we know it had benefitted all of us,
with our tremendous improvents.

im SO SO PROUD OF JVCB!

WE CAN STILL FLY HIGH JVCB !
